According to the latest QS World University Rankings released in 2025, the Iran University of Science and Technology has climbed 15 places compared to the previous year, and is now ranked 436th among universities globally. 

In the latest University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) for 2023, the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) was ranked 595th among universities worldwide. Additionally, according to the evaluation criteria of this institution, the university is recognized as one of the top three industrial universities in Iran.    

In the latest ranking released in October 2023, 65 scholars from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) have been recognized as being in the top 2%  of the most cited scientists in 2022, out of 210,198 researchers worldwide, (including 2138 researchers from various universities and research institutions in Iran).  

he "Science Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Iraq" meeting was held with the participation of more than 60 universities of the two countries. The Ferdowsi University of Mashhad hosted this scientific event to foster academic interaction, communication, and international cultural exchange.

The science and technology ecosystem event took place at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) simultaneously with the Mustafa Award on September 28 and 29, 2023. The meeting was attended by two faculty members from Istanbul Medipol University, faculty members of IUST  

The Almetyevsk State Oil Institute’s rector visited Iran University of Science and Technology on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023. The meeting was attended by the director of the Petroleum Department of the IUST School of Chemical, Oil and Gas Engineering, the deputy director of the Office of Scientific and International Cooperation, and several faculty members.  

On August 22nd, 2023, Iran University of Science and Technology had the privilege of welcoming a distinguished delegation of research executives from Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency.  

Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) and St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU) of Russia have solidified their commitment to international cooperation and knowledge exchange by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).  

Iran University of Science and Technology hosted representatives from Kazan Federal University of Russia on Thursday, Jun 22, 2023. During this meeting, officials from both sides discussed various issues and exchanged views to promote collaborations in education, research, and technology. 

During the first week of May 2023, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) hosted the delegates of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders of CIS countries within the framework of the Sixth International Silk Road Meeting.  

On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, a delegation from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University of Russia, consisting of the International Vice-Rector for International affairs, the Head of international students' office, and a publicist, visited the Iran University of Science and Technology and held a meeting with university officials.  

The unfortunate news comes from the severe earthquake in Turkey and Syria in which thousands of People died, injured, or forced to displace. Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) sympathizes with the Syrian students affected by this tragedy and stands with them in this difficult moments.​
